Apparently Drew Carey wasn’t always fat and jolly. Wikipedia tells me he was in the Marines in the early 1980′s, which would explain his multiple USO appearances and staunch support of the crew cut/flat top. I’m sure this photo’s been passed around quite a bit already, but I hadn’t seen it before, so back up off, nerd.

I guess this is as good a place as any: I have a few invites left if you still want on that wave train. Photo via.
KXT Has Come to Save Us From the Horrors of Dallas Top 40 Radio

KXT is a new radio station found at 91.7 FM in North Texas, and at kxt.org worldwide. It’s an incredible selection of acoustic, alt-country, indie rock, alternative and world music, hand-picked just for you – the real music fan.
KXT features between 9 and 11 hours of local programming each weekday, bringing you an eclectic variety of artists and genres, including a number of performers from North Texas and elsewhere in the Lone Star State.
I’ve only had about four or five hours of listening time since KXT’s arrival this week, and I’m liking it so far. I don’t love it yet, because I’m not the biggest alt-country fan (since there seems to be a lot songs played in this genre), but the song selection is so eclectic, interesting, and unexpected that I find myself tuning in just to hear what they’ll play next. Check out today’s playlist.
As the station continues to evolve and cater to “real music fans”, I fully expect to be tuned in on the reg. If only to escape the auto-tuned trash on the rest of the dial for five minutes.
Not in the Dallas/Fort Worth/Denton area? Dude, just listen live at kxt.org and relax.
