Apparently Drew Carey wasn’t always fat and jolly. Wikipedia tells me he was in the Marines in the early 1980′s, which would explain his multiple USO appearances and staunch support of the crew cut/flat top. I’m sure this photo’s been passed around quite a bit already, but I hadn’t seen it before, so back up off, nerd.

Finally got some photos from the show, and if you notice any over-riding theme here, yeah, it’s obviously Dos Equis. Free booze ya’ll! Apparently they sponsored the show, and injected their “Most Interesting Show in the World” in between sets. And by “inbetween sets”, I mean “for what felt like an eternity”. But it was a really fun time, and almost blew up into a full on rave on several occasions. Mostly due to the impromptu dance-off between the green man, a shower curtain, Mark Twain, and Frida Kahlo.
To the redhead in the pink button down uniform: wow you busted your ass hard. Are you okay? Feeling concussed at all? You were the laugh of the night, but I hope you’re okay. Nicely done though, hopping right back on to the ledge after you’d fallen. I admire your courage and drank a complimentary dos equis in your honor.
More photos on the Dos Equis facebook page.

Philipp Paulus is a german photographer who “does mainly fashion, beauty, advertising and lifestyle” photography.
I’m really impressed with his use of color here. And the kid’s only (wow?) 17 years old. Keep it up, brother.
